Ecclesiastes 5:4–6

When syou vow a vow to God, tdo not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. uPay what you vow. vIt is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay. Let not your mouth lead you1 into sin, and do not say before wthe messenger2 that it was xa mistake. Why should God be angry at your voice and destroy the work of your hands?

Proverbs 20:25

25  It is a snare to say rashly, It is holy,

and to reflect only oafter making vows.
