4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, ^ubut bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

2 ^t“Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise),

14 For the body does not consist of one member but of many.

Spiritual Gifts

1 Now ^mconcerning¹ spiritual gifts,² brothers,³ I do not want you to be uninformed.

7 But we were ^ygentle¹ among you, ^zlike a nursing mother taking care of her own children. 8 So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God ^abut also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.

11 For you know how, ^flike a father with his children,

11 ⁱMoses said to the Lord, “Why have you dealt ill with your servant? And why have I not found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people on me? 12 Did I conceive all this people? Did I give them birth, that you should say to me, ^j‘Carry them in your bosom, as a ^knurse carries a nursing child,’ to the land ^lthat you swore to give their fathers?
